- Separate windows on a shared native shell — Log viewer, downloads, settings, and document viewer now open as independent native windows instead of in-app overlays (#3444), with follow-up correctness, performance, and UX improvements to the log viewer (#3446)
- SAML authentication through deeplink — SAML login flows can now complete via the desktop deeplink handler (#3458)
- Workspace presence in the tray — The tray icon and menu now reflect the active workspace's presence status (#3466), and hide it when the active server fails to load (#3472)
Fixes
- macOS updates now install through electron-updater, fixing manual update installs on macOS (#3431, closes #955)
- "Check for updates" now works on store builds — Mac App Store, Microsoft Store, Snap, and Flathub — pointing users to the store instead of the built-in updater (#3460)
- Windows notification quick replies are no longer lost after the toast is dismissed to the Action Center (#3464)
- Windows notification quick replies are deduplicated (#3468, thanks @Moku151)

2.17.0 suffers from a crash on startup:

I find it odd that there is no response from development.

Would love to see dark mode support for Rocket.Chat. There are some open GitHub Issues for custom themes. But it would be great if this supported a light and a dark theme by default which followed system settings on macOS.
